Photo Gallery - Camp AchievementTogether we improve lives locally and together we will create lasting impact. Today, Northumberland United Way has announced that $1,010,479 was raised during the 2016 United Way Campaign.

“Today we celebrate the community’s collective achievement in reaching this goal. This achievement is the result of committed donors, volunteers and staff, which includes a group of United Way All Stars who acted as educators, advocates, and leaders for United Way’s campaign” said Lynda Kay, United Way CEO.

While we reached this year’s financial goal of $1,010,479, approximately $183,000 dollars of these donations are directed by donor choice to organizations not funded by Northumberland United Way. Donor choice is up significantly from just over $30,000 five years ago. Donations made directly to United Way are accountable, measurable and impactful. These donations increase a donor’s ability to make a difference by combining the gift with hundreds of others to support local health and social service programs based on community needs.

Funds raised by United Way are invested in a vital network of community partner organizations that expand out the impact and reach, such as, Cornerstone Family Violence Prevention Centres, Youth Violence Prevention Program, and Green Wood Coalition’s Outreach Program.

“Looking ahead to 2017/2018, the board, staff and volunteers are already eagerly working on a strategic plan along with new and renewed events to build on our fundraising efforts that have provided close to 50 years of unwavering community support” added Lynda.

A special thank you goes to the Best Western for donating the venue space, food and staff support for this Annual Campaign Achievement Breakfast.
